Getting to know you
I’ve always loved helping others. I believe that being able to educate, nourishes the soul.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Communication specialising in broadcast journalist. I’ve worked as a reporter and producer for some of Australia’s biggest commercial television networks.
It was my time working as a roving reporter that I realised how important makeup was. Not only in a professional setting but also as a tool of empowerment.
In 2015, I completed a TAFE course for Design and Apply makeup. Even after finishing the course, I still did not feel confident about makeup, because I felt like I was drowning, still, in information.
After becoming a mother, it triggered an even stronger focus in me to help others.
While pregnant with my identical twin girls, I was hospitalised with severe muscular pain, because of a virus. What came next was unexpected.
With no distractions of my toddler, or the everyday ‘life errands’ that cycles through my mind – I began to wonder, why there wasn’t a place where women could go to learn about the very basics of makeup.
I am technically a qualified makeup artist but find myself puzzled staring at some zillion products at the cosmetic counter.
I thought to myself, I want to take on this challenge, and use the skills I’ve acquired as a producer and reporter to break down in a simple step-by-step guide on how to use makeup to better enhance our natural beauty and lives.
